学びの準備 ／Prepare to learn	ねらい ／Goal Through extensive reading, students will develop greater independence and more confidence in their English. In addition, students will learn how to discuss, analyze, and write about literature. メッセージ ／Message I strongly believe that reading is the key to improving in a language. Through this class, I hope students will have fun reading and discussing English books--and thereby improve their English. 到達目標 ／Attainment Targets Students will become habitual readers with confidence in English.
学びの実践 ／Learning Practices	授業計画 ／Class Plan Classes will focus on reading easy English books. テキスト・参考文献・資料など ／Textbooks, references, materials, etc. Students will not be required to buy any textbooks but will be allowed to borrow graded readers and other books from the instructor. Students are strongly encouraged to share books and other materials with classmates. Students should bring an electronic dictionary to every class. Graded readers are also available in the OKIU Library on the third floor. 学びの手立て ／Way of learning Students will be provided a large selection of reading materials from which to choose, be given time to read during class, and asked to share their reactions to various books with their classmates. 評価 ／Evaluation Reading notebook: graded 3 times during the semester (90%) Short tests, handouts, and classwork (10%)
