学びの準備 ／Prepare to learn	ねらい ／Goal Students will learn how to write a basic 5-paragraph essay and how to make an effective presentation. メッセージ ／Message This is a challenging class, but you will learn a lot. Writing is difficult, but if you do your best, I'm sure you will improve. Don't give up! 到達目標 ／Attainment Targets Students will write a 2-page TWE essay, and do a presentation, which they will prepare with their group.
学びの実践 ／Learning Practices	授業計画 ／Class Plan Students will learn how to write a basic English composition and will research a topic with a group. テキスト・参考文献・資料など ／Textbooks, references, materials, etc. Students should bring an electronic dictionary and a notebook to every class. 学びの手立て ／Way of learning The seminar will be conducted in a workshop format. This means we will have group discussions, presentations, and occasional large group discussions. In addition, students will help each other revise their papers. 評価 ／Evaluation The grade will be calculated as follows: journal (35%), TWE essay, including draft and revision (35%); and group project, including individual work (30%). Students must attend at least 2/3 of all classes to receive a passing grade.
