学びの準備 ／Prepare to learn	ねらい ／Goal Although the class is obviously relevant to the purposes of the department students are encouraged throughout to make   connections between  contemporary issues in British culture and society and reflect upon their relevance to contemporarysocieties elsewhere, particularly Okinawa and Japan. メッセージ ／Message This is a cultural studies class which largely focusses on  contemporary British society and culture. While British     popular cultural artefacts，including music, sport,         literature and film are relevant to the class, students are encouraged to go beyond merely describing these, but insteadto contextualise them. 到達目標 ／Attainment Targets By the end of the class, students will hopefully be more inclined to question stereotypes about their own and other     cultures, rather than reinforce them.
