学びの準備 ／Prepare to learn	ねらい ／Goal In previous years, the class has focussed on issues, such as migration， colonialism and slavery, as well as specific areas, such as the Caribbean. This year, I intend to focus on trade in its various forms, from spices to human bodies. メッセージ ／Message For the purposes of this class, "English-speaking societies"does not only refer to such places as  Canada and Australia,but also includes societies in Asia, Africa and Europe." 到達目標 ／Attainment Targets To raise awareness of the nature and history of the spread of English and encourage students to reflect on this.
学びの実践 ／Learning Practices	授業計画 ／Class Plan テキスト・参考文献・資料など ／Textbooks, references, materials, etc. No textbook is required for this class. Instead, students will be expected to find information from a variety of sources. 学びの手立て ／Way of learning Any prior knowledge of the activities of European traders, explorers and ""privateers"" in the Asianregion, or of the history of Anglophone influence in particular, will provide a useful starting     point for discussion." 評価 ／Evaluation 1.
