The objective of this course is to provide you with diverse perspectives and specialized knowledge from the perspectives of international politics and international political economy in order to gain a deep understanding of the international society surrounding Japan and Okinawa. 学びの準備 ／Prepare to learn	ねらい ／Goal This course is an introductory course to International Politics and International Political Economy. The main purpose of this course is to understand the basic concepts of international politics and international political economy, and the main topics (research issues) that these two study fields deal with. メッセージ ／Message The lectures will be given in such a way that you do not need basic knowledge of political science and economics to understand them, but since a wide range of topics related to international political history, international politics, and international political economy will be covered, you are expected to prepare in advance and review after each lecture. 到達目標 ／Attainment Targets The main targets of the lecture are as follows: (a) To understand the history of pre-modern and modern international politics; (b) To understand the basic elements for understanding the structure of international politics; (c) To learn what kind of research issues are most focused on in contemporary international politics and what kind of debates and studies are being conducted in this field; (d) To learn the basic approaches to consider various issues in international politics and economics; (e) To learn what are the most important research issues that contemporary international economics focuses on, and to understand what kind of debates and studies are being conducted.
学びの実践 ／Learning Practices	授業計画 ／Class Plan The first and second lectures will cover the history of international politics, the third through eighth lectures will cover international politics, and the ninth through fourteenth lectures will cover international political economy. In the 15th and final lecture, a special lecture on an important topic in international politics will be given.
