学びの準備 ／Prepare to learn	ねらい ／Goal Before and over the summer break, students are encouraged   to choose a topic which they can use to create a 1,000-1,500word research paper in English. メッセージ ／Message With the help of the teacher, students are expected to learninternational conventions for citing sources and using      references. 到達目標 ／Attainment Targets Students will have chance to read exemplary papers from students who have taken the class in previous years. Their      objective is to produce a paper which can be used for such purposes in years to come.
学びの実践 ／Learning Practices	授業計画 ／Class Plan テキスト・参考文献・資料など ／Textbooks, references, materials, etc. No textbook is required for this class. 学びの手立て ／Way of learning Please think about your topic over the summer break, and be ready to submit an outline, introduction or first draft in October. Students are then expected to submit a minimum of three further drafts before the winter break. As well as submitting a final research paper in English, students are also required to make a short presentation explaining their research. 評価 ／Evaluation 1. Participation 25% 2.
