※ポリシーとの関連性
/*Relevance to Policy
This intensive course reexamines business not merely as “company management” or “profit-making,” but as an activity embedded in everyday life, including people and communities (towns and cities), human relationships, families, tourism, culture, art, and science and technology. Through multiple perspectives, students explore why the companies and services around them have taken their current forms.

     Drawing on marketing, management studies, and sociology—while also incorporating historical and philosophical perspectives—the course encourages students to move beyond reliance on a single correct answer, broadening their ways of thinking and deepening their understanding of society through the lens of business.

    This course aligns with the educational goals of the Department of Enterprise Systems in the Faculty of Industrial and Information Science, which emphasize understanding corporate activities from the perspectives of information, society, and technology.

ねらい
/Goal
In this course, small businesses—such as small companies, local shops, and start-up ventures—serve as the point of departure for examining how firms operate through their relationships with people and communities, social ties and families, tourism and the arts, as well as science and technology.
      Drawing primarily on perspectives from marketing, management studies, and sociology, and using familiar real-world examples, the course aims to provide students with a conceptual foundation for rethinking corporate activity and work within the broader context of society.
Rather than memorizing specialized theories, emphasis is placed on developing the ability to think independently about why things are the way they are.
      In accordance with national university standards and institutional policies, this course is conducted as a two-credit course with the required number of class sessions and instructional hours.
