学びの準備 ／Prepare to learn	ねらい ／Goal This seminar aims to develop the basic academic skills necessary for university-level learning through practical training in the four core language skills: reading, listening, speaking, and writing. Specifically, students will practice: Reading texts objectively and critically Listening carefully and summarizing key points from others’ ideas Creating presentations that effectively communicate opinions and arguments Learning the fundamentals of academic report writing Through these activities, students will build a solid foundation for their university studies. メッセージ ／Message Through pair work and group activities, students are encouraged to build friendships and support one another’s learning. Let’s create a positive classroom environment where everyone can learn together and collaborate. This course represents the first step toward making the most of your four years of university life. Speaking up in class and asking questions is not something to feel embarrassed about. If you do not understand something, please feel free to ask questions actively. 到達目標 ／Attainment Targets Attainment Targets Reading: Students will develop the ability to understand texts objectively through reading activities. Listening: Students will learn to listen carefully and identify key points in others’ ideas. Speaking: Students will be able to present their opinions clearly with supporting reasons. Writing: Students will learn the structure and organization of academic writing and eventually produce a structured report.
学びの実践 ／Learning Practices	授業計画 ／Class Plan Orientation, course overview, and registration confirmation Setting up and using the university email system (sending emails and organizing folders) Speaking Practice 1: Self-introduction and ice-breaking activities Listening & Speaking Practice 1: Summarizing a partner’s talk using the reproduction method Listening & Speaking Practice 2: Further practice summarizing a partner’s talk Reading Practice 1: Reading articles or texts and presenting summaries and opinions Reading Practice 2: Reading articles or texts and presenting summaries and opinions Writing Practice 1: Introduction to report writing and clear expression Writing Practice 2: Developing structured writing and preparing presentations Writing Practice 3: Further report writing practice and presentation preparation Integration of Four Skills 1: Three-minute speech presentations by students Integration of Four Skills 2: Three-minute speech presentations by students テキスト・参考文献・資料など ／Textbooks, references, materials, etc. There is no required textbook for this course. All instructional materials will be provided through Google Classroom, and additional handouts may be distributed during class when necessary. 学びの手立て ／Way of learning A supportive classroom environment is important. Let’s work together to create a class atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable speaking and sharing ideas. Assignments must be submitted by the deadline. Most submissions will be made during class. If a student’s total absences reach one-third of the class meetings, the student will automatically fail the course, even if an absence notification has been submitted. Tardiness counts as 0.5 absence. Students should check the university portal system and university email at least once per day for announcements and course information. 評価 ／Evaluation Assignments and submitted work: 50% Presentations: 40% Participation and class performance: 10%
