Establishing various information-related subjects within common subjects

Modern times, when anyone can use computers and other information devices, require comprehensive knowledge that correctly understands and utilizes information. Therefore, this university has a wide range of computer facilities and has created several information-related topics within common subjects so that all students can acquire comprehensive knowledge. Furthermore, specialized subjects give students practical study through the execution of application-related education, including techniques for utilizing the Internet, word processing, and spreadsheets, as well as programming such as numeric calculation and basic patterns for economic/administrative data processing. The College of Global and Regional Culture also offers classes for all students that encourage the capability to operate information-processing equipment. Moreover, students study the application of computer technology in collecting materials for special classes and research presentations.

A student message

I want to develop systems and software that help people

(Graduate of Mirai Technical High School)

In high school I studied IT systems. I chose Okinawa International University without hesitation because I wanted to study that area more broadly and deeply. This summer, I got the national qualification, the IT PASSPORT. Now, I’m studying system development as I work on my graduate thesis, and I’m working toward passing the Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination.
I’m also enjoying international exchange with foreign students through English, which I love, and bowling, a sport for which I was selected as a prefectural all-star player.
In the future, I’d like to utilize the qualifications I have now to help people through systems and software that only I can develop.
